"After an extended period of time, being housebound due to poor mental health I was given a doctor's referral to attend the nature and wellbeing sessions at Witton Park, Blackburn. The first step was hard due to being isolated and shut-in for 5+ years, but everyone at the project was welcoming and understanding. Initially attending one day a week, that quickly grew within a number of months to four days a week.
Due to having ASD (autistic spectrum disorder), I have struggled all my life with anxiety, particularly social, but also with the pressure and demands of everyday life. At The Greenhouse Project there is no pressure placed on you, you go at your own pace. The whole project has an aura of calm."

"In the short time I have been attending I have seen my confidence grow tremendously while allowing me to contribute to something meaningful. My Social skills have improved and I no longer feel dread at stepping out of my front door.
It has given me a structure to my life and in turn, improved my physical well-being as well. I have made friendships with people from all walks of life and gained a sense of community, with everyone bringing their own experiences to learn from and grow. In turn, I've imparted my own knowledge to help others.
I genuinely believe that the referral to attend the wellbeing service is one of the best things to have happened to me."
