Peatland Practical Volunteer
During the Spring and Summer months we carry out species surveys as well as keeping on top of general site maintenance. Then over the Winter there is lots of mucky physical work to get stuck in with to make sure the peatlands stay wet and boggy.
Work parties take place between 10.30am and 3.00pm
- Every Tuesday and monthly Sundays at Little Woolden Moss (WA3 5AR - W3W: tiling.gratitude.unwind)
- Every Friday at Astley Moss (M29 7LG - W3W: variation.flicks.every)
We carry out our practical tasks on the nature reserves in all weather conditions, so you will need appropriate footwear, clothing and outerwear as well as sun screen and insect repellent.
No previous experience is needed just a reasonable level of physical fitness. We provide the tools, training and Personal Protective Equipment and we can reimburse your travel expenses up to £8 per day.
