Join us this summer for a whole host of exciting events at Brockholes Nature Reserve! With outdoor theatre shows, themed guided walks and a whole range of family-friendly wildlife events taking place, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Join us for our first ever Brockholes Village Fete
We are super excited to announce that we have a brand new event taking place this summer, Brockholes Village Fete! This one-off event will take place in stunning natural surroundings, allow you to start your summer holidays in style and celebrate the best of British village spirit! There will be games, food, crafts, and plenty of nature to explore.
Learn all about our local wildflowers
We have regular wildflower walks taking place at Brockholes this summer, including on Friday 19th July and Tuesday 20th August. Join our guided walk leaders to gain some fascinating insights into the flora of Brockholes and how it changes over the year. We will also be covering the folklore associated with our wildflowers, trees and fungi!

See what lies beneath the water
Due to incredible demand pond dipping is back at Brockholes this summer! We provide all the equipment, you just need to turn up with a wild eye. Explore what lies beneath the surface of the water from tadpoles to fish and even creepy crawlies. Places are limited and filling up quickly! Book here to avoid disappointment.
Join our weekly pram walks
Join us every Thursday morning for a brisk 1-hour walk around the reserve on pram-friendly paths. This popular event is a great way to get out in the fresh air, get some exercise and improve your own health, as well as meet and chat with other new parents and carers. You are then welcome to join walkers for a coffee on our floating Visitor Village after the walk. Mums, dad, grandparents and other carers all welcome!
Discover our enchanted garden
Explore our enchanted garden where Faeries abound, who knows what could be found? Join us for this fabulous event this summer where children can immerse themselves in the world of magic, follow trails to find the enchanted lost key and create their own nature journal.
Enjoy a guided tour of the reserve
Join our Guided Walk Leaders for a fascinating tour of Brockholes and find out more about our wildlife, the history of the reserve and our conservation aims.
This walk is at a gentle pace, with lots of stopping to look at points of interest and watch the wildlife around the reserve. The event is free, but pre booking is essential.
Take in a show at our Outdoor Theatre
Enjoy a unique live theatre performance in beautiful outdoor surroundings! On 21st July at Brockholes Nature Reserve we have a performance of Shakespeare's 'As You Like It', and on 25th August we have a performance of Quentin Blake's 'Angelica Sprocket's Pockets' taking place.

Learn about nocturnal wildlife on our bat walks
Join us for one of our most popular events of the year! On 27th August we're hosting an adults-only Bat Walk, and 29th August there'll be a family Bat Walk. The events will start with a hot drink and biscuits, and an introduction to these fascinating creatures and the equipment we will be using to detect them, before heading out on the reserve for a walk to see if the bats are out and about. Wrap up warm and enjoy!
