About the event

Come along to Lunt Meadows on Saturday 13th July for a BioBlitz, where we will attempt to record as many plant and animals on the nature reserve as possible in one day.

The event will feature a variety of interactive stalls and activities ran by the Lunt Meadows team and brilliant wildlife experts, including:

  • Moth trapping 8am
  • Small mammal surveys 9.30am and 3pm
  • Guided bird walks 10am and 1pm
  • Wildflower identification walks 10am and 1pm
  • Pond dipping with Mersey Rivers Trust, a drop in activity from 11am-2.45pm
  • Sweep netting for invertebrates 11.30am

Stalls will be up from 11am - 3pm and activities will be running throughout the day, beginning at 8am. Your ticket will enable you to take part in any of the guided sessions on the day, so you can dip in and out of the different activities (some of which will be repeated through the day) and enables you to free parking on the day.

We will be using the iNaturalist app that can be downloaded for free in the Google Play and App Store but we will also have paper recordings for those unable to download the app.

As the event will be taking place outdoors, please dress for the weather. We recommend walking boots or even wellies. Our Learning Centre will be open for toilets and refreshments.

Please note that the walks do require you to have suitable mobility as you will be walking around the reserve.
