About the event

Hand Tool Wood Working Workshop

At The Greenhouse Project, Witton Country Park

Saturday 17th May

10am to 3pm

This hands-on workshop is designed for complete beginners—no prior experience needed, just curiosity and enthusiasm!

The Greenhouse Project is a Nature and Wellbeing community space which includes a woodworking area with tools and equipment, which you will work with. All proceeds from the workshop will go towards continuing to run and develop this community site.

You'll be introduced to essential hand tools like chisels, saws, and planes, and guided through key techniques such as measuring, cutting, and joining. By the end of the session, you’ll have created a small wooden project to take home, along with the confidence to continue your woodworking journey.

This is a fantastic opportunity to slow down, work with your hands, and connect with nature while learning a timeless craft. Expect a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with plenty of one-on-one guidance.

Please wear comfortable, practical clothes and sturdy footwear. PPE will be provided.

Hot drinks will be available, but please bring along snacks or a packed lunch.

Car parking at Witton Country Park is 5 minutes walk away (£2 for the day). There is disabled parking available close to the site; accessible via a radar key or prior arrangement an accessible toilet is also available nearby. Please contact us if you have any mobility problems and we will do our best to ensure you can access the workshop.
