About the event

The discovery of the Middle Stone Age settlements at Lunt Meadows Nature Reserve in 2012 has given us a glimpse into the lives of our Mesolithic, hunter-gatherer ancestors. Now we are inviting the public to connect with the past and have a go at experimental archaeology as we attempt to build houses like those people in the Mesolithic would have.

This is also a great opportunity to learn more about the discoveries at Lunt, life in the Mesolithic and to take part in something unique. National Museum Liverpool's Honorary Curator of Prehistoric Archaeology and LWT staff and volunteers will also be on hand to chat, answer questions and show you replica items from the Mesolithic period.

People of all ages are welcome, but we ask that children are accompanied by an adult. Please dress appropriately for the weather - we recommend wearing sturdy shoes like hiking/walking boots or wellies. We will be running a morning and an afternoon session, please book onto the time you prefer.
