Bickershaw Country Park, Edna Road, Leigh, WN7 5ES

Bickershaw Country Park

Bickershaw Country Park gets its name from the former coal mine which occupied much of the site. Since the closure of the mine, nature has had the chance to re-colonise the land and create wonderful areas for plants and animals.  We need people to help us to create the ideal environment for the local flora and fauna.

Work parties take place Tuesday-Friday and you can volunteer for one day or more. No previous experience is needed just enthusiasm and a reasonable level of physical fitness. We provide the tools, training and personal protective equipment and we can reimburse travel expenses up to £8 per day.

If you have an interest in learning about conservation practices and are keen to get stuck in whatever the weather please read the role description below and contact Matthew our Project Officer to arrange to give it a try.
