Mental Health Awareness Week 2024

Mental Health Awareness Week 2024

May 13th-19th is Mental Health Awareness Week, and the theme this year is Movement: Moving more for our mental health

We know that being active is really important. The physical health benefits from doing a 30-minute walk every day include better heart health, stronger bones, and reducing risk of conditions such as type 2 diabetes.

Being active is also really important for our mental health – it helps us feel calmer and more content while also increasing positive moods like enthusiasm and alertness, and getting out into nature increases the benefits massively.

This week we’ll be sharing stories from around the Trust about how movement has helped people’s wellbeing, lots of suggestions of beautiful reserves to take a walk around and more.

Wildlife Trust Walks

Come and join us for a walk out in nature. We've got lots of different types of walk for all sorts of interests, from reserve tours, to local history, dawn chorus walks and even ones for little legs!

If you'd rather take a walk at your own pace, then check out some of our beautiful nature reserves around the region.
