Photography Competition Results – September 2024

Diane Leeming

Local Landscapes was the theme for September’s photography competition, and we received some incredible entries.

Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside are home to some of the most incredible and diverse landscapes. From our wildlife abundant reserves and woodlands to the wonderful world of bogs and peatlands, these expansive landscapes provide an array of beauty throughout the year.

This month we celebrated our beautiful Landscapes by making ‘Local Landscapes’ our theme and we were not disappointed. From views across the bay to stunning sunsets across the fields, the entries we received where incredible.

Unfortunately, our judges can only pick one winner, a task that was extremely difficult this month as we received so many amazing entries.

The winner of September’s photography competition is … Diane Leeming!

Lancashire Sunset

Diane Leeming

This beautiful sunset amazed our judges. We loved the way that the setting sun casts a golden glow across the fields as it slowly disappears into the horizon. The contrast of this against the cold stone wall, really brings this image to life.

Lily Pads

Mark Lazenby

Second place goes to Mark Lazenby with this wonderful image. Our judges loved how the colours and components of this image look almost painting-like. The way he captured the stillness of the water as the lily pads float atop the pond is beautiful.

Sea View

Helen Dodd

Finally, third place goes to Helen Dodd. We loved how she captured the contrast between the green coastal grass in the foreground and the sand and water in the background. The still and calmness of this picture makes the viewer want to just perch on one of those benches and enjoy the beautiful undisturbed view.

A huge thank you to everyone who sent in their wonderful images! To see all the incredible entries we received, please take a look at the album below. The winner will be contacted via email with details of how to redeem their £100 optics voucher prize.
