Evaluation is an important part of what we do. It shows that Nature and Wellbeing can help people to feel better and have coping mechanisms to get through day to day life.
We have evaluations available about our Nature and Wellbeing Service (formerly Myplace) as a whole, as well as evaluations about our work with the probation service and Our Bright Future.
Myplace Independent Evaluation 2019
This independent evaluation from The Evaluator was conducted in 2019, and found that Myplace excels at helping those with low mental wellbeing.
"I attended Myplace at a time I really needed it. I made new friends and did lots of activities I enjoyed. Thanks for looking after me."

Nature and Wellbeing in the Probation Service
Lancashire Wildlife Trust Nature and Wellbeing Service started running sessions at a Probation Service approved premises in October 2020. Running a number of activities such as landscaping, growing food and working as a team, the project ran twice a week, available to the probationers living on site
"Being outdoors – I’ve spent a lot of time behind doors so being outside is important. Through Covid I spent 23 hours a day in my cell. I just sit and watch the ducks and the trees – I see squirrels. It’s brilliant – I sit for 3 hours and have a conversation with a duck. Not many people my age do that. It’s quite therapeutic – it helps my mental health – I’m calmer."

Our Bright Future
In 2015 LWT and LSCFT began working together to find a way of developing a non-clinical, community based service that would support young people to improve their wellbeing by connecting with nature, while simultaneously taking action to support their local environment. In 2016 they were successful in an application to Our Bright Future, and so Myplace began.
“Before Myplace [my daughter] wouldn’t come out of her bedroom and wouldn’t even go to school... We didn’t expect much from Myplace to be honest, but we talked her into going one Thursday morning... she met new friends... someone she could relate to... it gave her support and confidence... she started opening up a bit more with us”
